SYLVIA A. HOSIE Spotlight Show – June 20th to July 3rd, 2026 – Yaquina Art Center, Nye Beach Turnaround, Newport, OR
The work of Sylvia A. Hosie, an award winning fine art photographer, will be showcased at the Yaquina Art Center in Newport, Oregon. The two week show begins June 20th. Hours are 11am to 5pm daily. Hosie has been a member of the Yaquina Art Association since 1984. Two of her life-long passions have been animals and art in many forms, often combining the two. Hosie’s photographic journey began in 1981 when she learned how to develop and print black and white photographs. Today the digital revolution has allowed her to give a looser, more stylized look to many of her images.
“This Spotlight Show will include many of my favorites as well as new work I am excited about” states Hosie. She is known for her minimalist images of birds photographed here as well as in Florida. Her ICM (intentional camera movement) photographs and composites of several images blended together will also be featured. Cards and coffee mugs with her photographs on them will be available too.
Professional organizations include the Professional Photographers of America, Nature Photographers of the Pacific Northwest, North American Nature Photographers Association, and the Yaquina Art Association Photographers.
