Yaquina Art Association Artist Spotlight Show Aug 19-Sept 1 2023

YAA Spotlight

Local painters Patti Johnson and Josephine Allen will share a two week spotlight show at the Yaquina Art Association Gallery, opening this Saturday, August 19-September 1 2023.

Patti Johnson often paints with watercolor or pastel of natural wildlife. She has been exposed to art throughout her life as her parents were artists. Upon retirement she and her husband moved to Newport and she began a new focused study of visual art with Bill Runyan through Yaquina Art Association nearly 45 years ago. Since that time she has painted commissioned portraits of people and pets. In her home studio she said she always looks for something she finds beautiful to share. She continues to be deeply moved by natural settings and animals both above ground and under sea. Johnson also has learned china painting and facilitates a class at YAA along with another in acrylics.

Josephine Allen has a love of art and it shows in the variety of mediums she works with. She enjoys acrylic painting, china painting, watercolors, clay art, colored pencil, pastels, photography, mixed media.
