YAA Spotlight

In a two week Pedestal Spotlight Show from June 29th to July 15th, the Yaquina Art Association will be featuring the jewelry of Linda Cline. The Yaquina Art Association Gallery is located in Nye Beach at 789 NW Beach Drive. Hours of operation are 11 am to 5 pm every day. Linda Cline’s Artist Statement:

“I live in an amazing place, Newport, Oregon where every day I have the privilege of watching the ocean glisten, sparkle, and change into many colors. The variety of colors in nature is the canvas whereby I create sparkling jewelry.

Originally from Southern California and a having career as an ESL instructor at UC Riverside, creating and crafting beaded jewelry was not something I envisioned would become a 2nd career for me. But here I am 18 years later, still crafting beautiful beaded necklaces, bracelets, earrings and such; moreover, it is still a passion for me.

I basically taught myself and am still learning and experimenting with different gemstones, Swarovski Crystals, and other glass beads. My predominant finding is sterling silver, but I do use 14k gold filled pewter, brass and copper components as well.

My jewels can be purchased at the Newport and Lincoln City Farmers Markets as well as the Yaquina Artists Association in Newport. My work is also represented at the Made in Oregon stores as I am one of their jewelry vendors. I am also a consignment artist at a few stores in the county. Throughout the year, I also find the time to do home shows, special holiday craft shows and bazaars.

Since the ocean gives me such great inspiration to create sparkling jewelry, I find new possibilities to create endless.”
