YAAP Peoples Choice Awards

News & Events

The Yaquina Art Association Photographers show announces the People’s Choice Award winners from voting that took place at the Runyan Gallery in the Visual Art Center throughout the month of April. With over 423 total votes the top three award winners were: JerriLynn Woolley with “Dawn is Breaking”, a picture of the Yaquina Bay at sunrise taking first place. Fred Schneider, a new member of the YAAP took second place with his picture “Mist at Sunrise”. Vern Bartley, recently moving to Newport fulltime, took third place with his photograph “Ghost Ship”.

The club president Ted Crego was pleased that with 88 photographs on display, 74 percent of all the photographs had at least one vote and 25 percent of the photographers had sales. He stated that the reviews from the public were outstanding with comments on what a wonderful display of our local YAA photographers work.

The Yaquina Art Association Photographers meet at 7pm on the first and third Mondays of the month at the 2nd-floor classroom of the Visual Art Center. Anyone interested is invited to attend. There will be presentations offered at both the meetings in June. The June 4th meeting will feature a presentation on Astro Photography for Terrestrial Photographers by Greg Marshall . The June 18th meeting will feature a presentation by Vern Bartley titled Composition and a Whole Lot More.  For more information you can call Ted Crego at 541-265-4545 or visit the website at: www.yaaphotographyclub.com.
