The award winners from the monthly competitions are invited back to an “End of Year” judging to be held in Longview, Washington this year. The 4C’s convention will be held October 7-9th, 2011 and includes fieldtrips, photography workshops and sessions, as well as the print and digital competitions.
The 4C’s chose the following color print award winners to return to the end of year competition: Oriental Lily – Richard LaFond, Light Rays at Nye Beach, Bay Bridge Reflection, & Full Moon at Yaquina Head – JerriLynn Woolley, Kentucky Falls & Bandon Sea Stacks – Laren Woolley, Headed Out – George Meyer .
The monochrome prints eligible for End of Year Competition from YAAP are: Bullwinkle by Laren Woolley, Boiler Bay Surging by Clint Ayer and Full Moon at Yaquina Head by JerriLynn Woolley.
Photographers meet on the 1st and 3rd Monday each month in the classroom above the Visual Art Center located at the Nye Beach turnaround in Newport, Oregon at 7 pm. The YAAP’s primary purpose shall be to teach and further the pursuit and appreciation of the visual arts in every possible way, and to exhibit and provide an outlet for the benefit of the association and membership, as well as the community, and not for the benefit of any individual. New this year, the club will be competing digitally, not just with prints and slides as in the previous years.
The Columbia Council of Camera Clubs is from parts of 4 western states including Washington, Oregon, Idaho and California. There were almost a thousand entries submitted this year in the monthly competitons from which these photographers won awards. For more information on 4C’s visit 4C’s.
