Siletz Tribal Charitable Contribution Fund helps Yaquina Art Association build a new beach access

News & Events

The Yaquina Art Association is pleased to announce the completion of a replacement staircase to the beach at the South end of its Gallery in Nye Beach. The Yaquina Art Association Gallery was built in 1914 as a bath house. It is one of only a few buildings in Oregon that was built directly on the beach. The new staircase is a great improvement over the previous stairs. The steps are less steep and much wider. They are also now a uniform size and shape.

This stairway provides public access to the beach. It is used by 100’s of people a day during the busy summer and fall months. It provides access just south of Nye Creek allowing the public to walk south without having to walk through the Nye Creek waters.

The project was funded in part by a generous grant of $3,425.00 from the Siletz Tribal Charitable Contribution Fund. The Yaquina Art Association is grateful to the Siletz Tribal Contribution Fund for its support of this project.
