Yaquina Art Association (YAA) presents its annual all member show in the Visual Art Center Runyan Gallery Feb. 3 through Feb.26. Each of the local artists is invited to show one fine art piece in many mediums including watercolors, photography, pastels,oils, acrylics, etc. as well as some fine craft items. This event gives the public a chance to.see the variety af art the members do. The gallery is open from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm Tues. through Sunday and is located at 777 NW Beach Drive in the Nye Beach Turnaround.  There will be an opening reception on Saturday, Feb. 4th at from 1-3 pm giving the community an opportunity to meet the artists.  Refreshments will be served.

 

February is YAA’s annual fundraiser for its scholarship program held the last weekend in Feb. on Feb. 24th to 26th, 10a.m. to 5p.m. coinciding with the Seafood and Wine Festival.  There will be a children’s hands on crafts project with melted crayon, making an interesting artistic effect an paper. There will be demonstrations by the artists, food and lots of arts and crafts for sale with proceeds going to further the arts by providing scholarships to kids’ art programs, a college artist and to members in Lincoln County.  YAA offers free classes four days each week to anyone wishing to learn or improve their artistic talent.
