“Color and Contrast” Coming to the Visual Art Center

Exhibition

“Color and Contrast” will be the theme for the March YAA All Member Show at the Visual Art Center.  The Runyan gallery will be showing the artwork that is for sale off the wall from March 3 through March 30th, open Tuesday through Sunday from 11 am to 5 pm.  The exhibit will be at 777 NW Beach Dr in the Nye Beach Turnaround in Newport, OR.  An opening reception with refreshments will be held on Friday, March 4, 2016 from 5- 7 pm with a chance to meet the local artists. The Yaquina Art Association members are all invited to bring in art focusing on what they do best – color and contrast.

March 25-27th will be a YAA fundraiser Arts and Crafts sale with delicious handmade goodies, chili and hot-dogs to nibble on while you browse the artwork downstairs or the tables and bins of art and craft items for sale up in the 2nd floor classroom.   Proceeds are donated to the YAA scholarship fund  to further the arts by providing scholarships to kids art programs as well as a college artist and to members in Lincoln County. The YAA also provides free art classes to the community.

With over a hundred local members in the Yaquina Art Association this promises to be an impressive collection of artwork.  Visitors to the gallery will have the opportunity take home their favorite piece as well as to vote for the People’s Choice award which will be presented at the end of the show.  Artwork will range from watercolors, photography, pastels, oils, acrylics, colored pencils, clay, jewelry, woodwork, three dimensional and more.
