YAA All Member Show

Exhibition

The Visual Art Center will feature the artwork of the Yaquina Art Association members in the month of February.  The show will be from Tuesday, February 3rd to Thursday, February 26th in the Runyan Gallery at the Newport Visual Art Center.  The exhibit will be at 777 NW Beach Dr in the Nye Beach Turnaround in Newport, OR.  An opening reception with refreshments will be held on Fri. Feb. 6th from 5- 7 pm with a chance to meet the local artists. Gallery hours are from 11 am to 5 pm with the gallery closed on Mondays.

With over a hundred and twenty members in the Yaquina Art Association and every person invited to bring in one piece of artwork to display during the month of February, this should be an impressive collection of local art to view.  Visitors to the gallery will have the opportunity to buy off the wall as well as to vote for your favorite artwork.  Art will range from watercolors, photography, pastels, oils, acrylics, colored pencils, clay, jewelry, woodwork, and more.

Following the YAA all member show, there will be a fundraiser Arts and Crafts Sale beginning Feb. 27th through Sunday March 1, 2015 from 10 am. to 5 pm at the Visual Art Center.  There will be demonstrations by member artists, food and lots of framed and unframed arts and crafts sold. Proceeds are donated to the YAA scholarship fund  to further the arts by providing scholarships to kids art programs as well as a college artist and to members in Lincoln County.  There will be a melted crayon make and take project for the young (and young at heart). Food that will be available for purchase in the upstairs classroom will include hotdogs, chili, chips, potato salad, homemade pies, cookies, brownies and coffee.YAA offers free classes to anyone wishing to learn or improve their artistic talent.

March 1 from 10 am to 4 pm there will be a “leftover” art sale of art collected over the last 10 plus years.  This sale will be in the 3rd floor classroom and proceeds will help the Visual Art Center.  It is also a chance to pick up a piece of VAC  history.
