Two week spotlight with Ted Crego

YAA Spotlight

Ted Crego, Sue Hatfield and Penny Bullinger will be the featured artists for a 2 week spotlight at the Yaquina Art Gallery in Nye Beach.  Aug. 6-Aug.19th the public can view their artwork at 789 NW Beach Drive in Newport from 11-5 pm daily.

Former president of the Yaquina Art Association Photographers, Ted Crego is currently retired from his job as a Ceramic Engineer and is enjoying photography.  He and his wife enjoy taking vacations to places where they can photograph new subjects..  Some of the places include Vietnam, Cambodia, Japan, Peru, Canada and recently a European river cruise from Amsterdam to Budapest.  But some of our favorite places to visit are the wonderful National Parks throughout the USA. Ted’s photo interests are varied, but he enjoys finding images that others may overlook, such as patterns and macro shots. Lately,  he has been doing more panoramas and HDR (High Dynamic Rrange)  photos. “There is always something new to learn in photography especially when it comes to the myriad of software programs.”  Ted’s photographs have received awards in competition through the Vietnamese Artistic Photographic Association, Tri-Community Photo Center, Photographic Society of America, Tryon Creek Photo Club, Oregon State Fair Salon of Photography, Columbia Council of Camera Clubs and the Yaquina Arts Association Photographers.  Ted would invite those interested in joining a photo club to check out the local photo club at  YAAPhotographers.org.  They meet on the first and third Mondays in the Visual Arts Center Classroom at 7 pm.
