Yaquina Art Association Artist Pedestal Show

Welcome to my show of crocheted items!
I come from a long line of crocheters. My great grandmother, grandmother, mom, both aunts on my mother’s side, and I also have a daughter and granddaughter that crochet. I have crocheted blankets for my friends that have had babies, as well as co-workers. I believe that I am up to approximately 25 blankets that I have made for other people. My aunt showed me how to make pot holders in a continuous round, so I did a lot of those. Then a couple years ago I had surgery on my foot, and was bored. I was unable to do much of anything as I was not supposed to bear weight on my foot, so I started watching youtube and it opened me up to a whole new world of crochet. My first item was a little bear. Looking back at it, it looks kind of sad, but also not bad for my first ever amigurumi (Japanese name for crocheted or knitted stuffed toys) item. I then started crocheting all kinds of other items. My most adventurous was a reversible toy. One side was an axolotl, and it reversed to a whale shark. While it’s not perfect, I considered it a success.
Oh, I also do photography! While I don’t sell much, I do have some postcards that I make and have included for sale.
