Yaquina Art Association Artist Showcase
Catherine Hingson, Ellen Hamilton & Jana Boutwell
September 13-26, 2025
Catherine Hingson, a member of the Yaquina Art Association since 2013, has been selected as one of the Featured Artists for September 13-26, 2025. She will have about 10 paintings in this show, mostly of local landscapes. Hingson works in watercolor, oil, acrylic, and pastel. Her marine-themed original paintings have vibrant colors, and her impressionistic style reflects her personality. “I try to capture a feeling of place, especially in my plein air work.” Hingson first moved to Lincoln County in 1992, and has taught art classes here since the 1990s. She is currently teaching beginning watercolor in Lincoln City. In addition to teaching, Hingson leads a plein air group, where artists meet up to paint outdoors at local viewpoints along the coast.
Ellen Hamilton, a native Oregonian and resident of Lincoln County. My primary mediums are watercolor, soft and oil pastels and felting. My painting style is primarily realism. I enjoy recreating recognizable images and their essence.
Jana Boutwell has been a fused glass artist going on 20 years. Started in Colorado and now in Oregon for the last 7 years. I have many different items just love working with glass.
