Ann Nicholson and A.T. Ronan. October 3rd – October 16th

YAA Spotlight

The public is invited to enjoy a colorfully blended art show featuring Yaquina Art Association (YAA) artists Ann Nicholson and A.T. Ronan. Their show, scheduled for Saturday, October 3 through Friday, October 16,  is aptly titled “Color-Full!”, providing a spot of joy before the dark winter months settle over the Oregon Coast.

When Ronan suggested that they team up for the show featuring colorful flowers, Nicholson enthusiastically responded, “I’m all in! Color is everything and flowers are gifts from God.”. This show will feature Nicholson’s original acrylic 6×6 paintings of vivid sunflowers and pansies, prints of her new study: playful frogs surrounded by flowers, as well as cards with hummingbirds, bees, fish and of course, flowers.  Ronan will feature hand painted dried roses artfully detailed and displayed in glass, Fall wreaths, glass painted vases lavishly embellished as well as flow art painted clay pots and journals. Her fun bonus for the show is a lighted bird cage complete with an authentic bird’s nest.

Nicholson currently sells watercolor prints, cards, pendant necklaces and earrings at galleries and gift shops along the Coast. She previously sold kelp baskets, painted pots, jewelry and art prints at local farmers markets for 19 years. Ronan, who sells exclusively at the YAA gallery, has had previous showings of the artisan decoupage technique with seaweed and dried flowers as well as specialty paper. Other shows have featured carved driftwood and tissue paper flowers.

The YAA Gallery has over 100 member painters, photographers, and artisans who offer unique, original and affordable art treasures.  The gallery and gift shop is located in the historic building at the Nye Beach turnaround at 789 NW Beach Drive in Newport. Winter hours are 11 am to 4 pm.
