Mark Cheney YAA pedestal show from June 13 – 23, 2026

YAA Spotlight

Mark Cheney joined the YAA in 2015 and became treasurer a short time later. He then became a board member working with President Ken Hartwell.

Joining the art association after retirement seems like a life-saver to him now. He enjoyed photography, then learned about clay work and from there began diversifying with driftwood fish sculptures (he called them “Fish Stix”), assemblage art with rocks, driftwood and found objects.

His artwork will be displayed on a pedestal show from June 13th to June 23rd, 2026. Photos to follow upon set up. Some of his work in the gift shop are too large to display on pedestals, so check out his fan blade dragonfly and mermaid up on the wall in there. NOTE: Some of his latest work entails making driftwood animal heads, one-of-a-kind creations. Below are three that have sold in the past year (framed photos may be available). Check out his show to see the latest one available!
