Jan Walsh Photographer, Composite Artist, and Mosaic Tile Creator

I am an artist based in Newport, Oregon, with a lifelong passion for photography spanning nearly four decades. My formal education includes courses taken at Central Oregon Community College where I fell in love with the darkroom. I made the move to digital photography about 15 years ago. I specialize in wildlife, candid portraits and event photography where I strive to capture the spirit of my subjects.

My exploration into composite photography was born out of the isolation of the Covid 19 Pandemic. I needed to find a new creative outlet and begin using images of my dogs to re-create famous artwork into quirky and whimsical images. I’ve since added vintage photograph composites into my portfolio.

In 2023 I took a class in Mosaic tile making at Santa Teresa Tile Works in Tucson Arizona and have enjoyed adding mosaic tile making into my creations.

Jeff Bertuleit enjoys both watercolor, pastel and oil painting. He has been painting for the past 22 years. He has enjoyed combining travels to Europe, Mexico and Hawaii with his art. Jeff also enjoys painting at scenic locations and recently participated with 80 other artists painting ocean scenes plein air. He plans to display some of that plein air painting in his two week spotlight show. Jeff is an active member of the Yaquina Art Association and is an active board member.

He often paints outdoor scenes with water and commonly ocean scenes. He grew up in Newport Beach, CA and has continued a strong love of beaches since. With formal training in architecture and urban planning, Bertuleit found additional expression with artwork. He studied with noted teachers in California and again with Yaquina Art Association’s renowned art teacher Harry Neimela.

He enjoys travel and often combines art workshops and Plein Air painting in Hawaii, Mexico, various European locations and elsewhere. Local coastal scenes are also found in his body of work.
