Photographers announce Depth of Field Presentation

News & Events

Amateurs through serious photographers will benefit from a presentation on Depth of Field at the Monday, Oct. 6th, 2014 Yaquina Art Association Photographers meeting.  The presentation will be at the upstairs classroom of the Visual Art Center located at the Nye Beach Turnaround in Newport, Oregon beginning at 7 pm.  The class is free to the public.

Speaker and teacher Mike Lowery from Focal Point Photography located in Dallas, Oregon will help simplify some of the mysteries of depth of field used in photography.  In some cases, it may be desirable to have the entire image sharp, and a large DOF is appropriate. In other cases, a small DOF may be more effective, emphasizing the subject while de-emphasizing the foreground and background. Mike will help understand the best use of each.  Mike shoots with a Canon camera but is familiar with all types of cameras.
