Yaquina Art Association Mission Statement

"Our primary purpose shall be to teach and further the pursuit and appreciation of the visual arts and crafts in every possible way, and to exhibit and provide an outlet for the benefit of the association and membership, as well as the community, and not for the benefit of any individual."

Scholarships:

  • We offer a scholarship to a junior or senior at OSU in the amount of $1,500.00 yearly.  We also offer a one month show in the CNC gallery to display their artwork.
  • There are also 1/2 scholarships for kids that wish to take any classes offered in the community.  This is for students that attend Yaquina View or Sam Case elementary schools.
  • There are scholarships for members to take workshops or art classes.  We require the member to pay all costs except the class fee.  When the class is over, the member will teach a class on what they learned to the membership.

All scholarships are chosen by letters submitted to the YAA Executive Board.

We offer classes 1 or 2 times a year in the school classrooms, taught by our members in many different subjects.  This enables approximately 300 - 500 students each year to learn with hands-on experience the joys of art, whereas these activities might not have been an option for these children.
